One Simple Golden Idea Can Change Everything
So, I was at the Dollar General last fall…you know, buying shampoo and energy drinks, the essentials! Then, this happened…

So, I was at the Dollar General last fall…you know, buying shampoo and energy drinks, the essentials! When I walked into the store, I noticed the cashier was friendly and talking to everyone coming through the line. Actually, you could hear her all over the store.
When my turn came, she was talking about some lady who had come into the store earlier that day and bought a bunch of the summer shoes they had on sale. Apparently, their summer sandals and things were on sale for 50 cents a pair. Woot!
Just off the cuff, I said, “She’s probably at home right now listing them on eBay.”
You could almost hear the lightbulb click on.
“You’re probably right! I hadn’t even thought of that!”
Then there was this palpable, brief silence before I said, “Work smarter, not harder!”
“I guess! You’re a smart lady!”
Then I said a bunch of dumb stuff because I’m socially awkward like, “Yes, ma’am. That’s your freebie for today!”
Like I charge people to regurgitate ideas like that. *rolls eyes*
I’m a dork, but that’s beside the point!
The point is that a seed was planted in that cashier. I bet she will approach sales in her store with a different mindset. She will be thinking, “Could I sell this on eBay?”
Maybe she won’t be working at Dollar General much longer! You never know!
Here’s another nugget for you: LOCAL IS GOLD.
That cashier is coachable!
You could blow someone’s mind with a simple idea. You don’t have to be some guru!
I can’t stand gurus.
Regardless of what you do, there is a gold mine waiting for you locally. You just have to figure out where to hawk your wares.
What turns on your lightbulb?
Hopefully, the ideas in this book will grease your brain wheels!
Lots of things illuminate my world, but my favorites are the simple ideas like this where a sale becomes the source of a possibly profitable eBay flip. There are people who make a very fine living from just that one simple idea.
What’s your idea?
Maybe it’s time for a brainstorming session!
