I Don't Have a $400+ Course to Sell You
Find your passion, create content, and profit—no gatekeepers, no high-ticket offers, just opportunity.
I follow several writers, and I don’t know if this is a new movement or what, but the general consensus among them are some “new to me” concepts like:
You are the niche
You can make massive bank just writing on social media
You don’t need video
They all seem to have achieved massive success by writing on X, Medium, and building an email list from those two endeavors.
This business model appeals to me on multiple fronts for the obvious reasons.
There’s one problem.
Every one of these people has at least one high-dollar course they’re selling. This begs the question: can I monetize this “no niche, write what you want, build your tribe” model without a high-ticket offer?
I’ve heard every argument for why you should charge people crazy amounts of money for courses, and…
I disagree.
I think I might disagree with them all.
I’m about to fix the world.
Ready?
Every one of us is born with a purpose. We have things we are good at, that we are passionate about, and that we enjoy.
Our experience with those things is unique. We each have our own perspective.
Our experience and our perspective are valuable. These are products that can be monetized.
For example, let’s say you crunch numbers on Wall St. This is something I am completely ignorant about. I have no clue how it works. None whatsoever.
Maybe you’re trying to climb the corporate ladder and really find success in the financial world.
Like most industries, I’m going to assume there’s a certain amount of gatekeeping going on that has a set of prerequisites you must acquire for success like:
A degree or two
A certain amount of tenure as a nobody at the bottom
Some type of tooth/nail fighting for position while climbing some invisible ladder
Adherence to a crazy amount of rules, regulations, dress codes, and other stuff
I have good news.
Industries are breaking down one by one and the playing field is level.
I’m not really sure where it all started, but you no longer have to jump through all the hoops of the Big 5 publishers to become a published author.
You don’t need a record deal to be a successful musician.
You don’t need a degree, internship, and a lot of luck to sell your artwork.
All the obstacles have been torn down by the Internet.
Using our previous Wall St. example, you can bring your number-crunching online and consult with the author, musician, and artist on personal finance and probably make more than you were making in your corporate job.
You can bring your brand of magic online, create content around it, and profit. I’ve seen it done over and over and I’m not talking about these dorks with their courses where you have to get an equity loan to afford it.
The gatekeepers have been circumvented by a slit cut in the fence.
We’ve made our way into the global marketplace and we’re indistinguishable from these ding dongs who came through the gate!
The simple truth is that anyone who wants to, can create content and create a business from it.
It’s not for everyone, but I believe this is how the world was designed to work…on a creator economy.
Creators, unrestrained by corporate bureaucracy and dumb rules that limit them, contribute directly to the world economy and each other.
Anyone who doesn’t want the burden of running their own thing can certainly work for a corporation or company, but those who want to be free should be able to pursue that through open doors, or gates as it were.
Anyone with a skill, talent, or expertise should easily be able to monetize it in the creator economy by just making themselves available on various platforms.
We’ve already seen people monetizing their time with the gig economy doing things like Uber, Door Dash, Instacart and more.
More platforms just create more pain points and problems to solve.
It’s self-replicating opportunities!
So, I’ve got no high-ticket course to sell.
I'm not here to serve the 1% who already have limitless opportunities. I'm here, as part of, and to serve the 99% who are in the trenches with me.
When I come to the table with my offering, it will be affordable for people like my friend Scott who could really use a leg up, or for people like the hurricane victims across the South who have lost everything and need to rebuild it from nothing.
It will be for the single mothers, ex-cons, recovering addicts, and anyone else who wants to be free.
This is how we fix things across our country and the world.
We begin emphasizing the importance of individuals and their singular gifts instead of trying to sort everyone into the same box.
It’s time for class and corruption to die.
We show people how to find their purpose and live it.
If you want a strong economy and strong people, give them the ability to create their own job when there are none to be found.
Help me monetize these ideas.
I don’t have anything to sell you, but share this. Share me. Spread the word. A new wave is coming to equip the people with the means to enable their own creator economy.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to find your thing and think about how you can create content around it on the road to monetization.
Holler in the comments if you have thoughts about any of this. Let’s goooo!
